January always begins with thoughts and promises of new things we want to become…
Thinner, fitter, happier, prettier, more professional, a non smoker, a yoga guru, non drinker (well for a month or two) and so it goes one.
But how many of us think about the joy of travel, to make a pact with ourselves to see more of a country, places over the horizon, or the the world – probably way out of our comfort zone, price range, stage in life and thought process, etc.
The world is so much smaller now and at one touch of a smart phone you can transform yourself wherever you want to be – planning a trip of a lifetime – the virtual world at our finger tips (and its not just for the kids)!
So Why don’t we do it?
We are all worth the thought and planning, we just have to believe we are and trust in those dreams, and if something is meant it will come to us ‘under grace and in the perfect way.’
My husband did just that! He was offered a chance of a life time (a belated gap year/gap month) to sail the world (well parts of it) to see blue horizons from the deck of a yacht. What an amazing adventure!
But so many excuses came up in his head initially as to why he shouldn’t: … work, time, money, responsibilities, how can I, I’m not worthy to do this, how can I put myself before others etc etc. All perfectly valued thoughts which come from our past conditioning. Why is that? We have to look at breaking these patterns.
… and he did!
I am pleased to report he decided to invest in himself and take up this ‘chance of a lifetime/his dream’ with so much joy!
He’s finally doing what he so wanted to do at 19, just a few years late!
So let’s see if we can continue our New Year resolutions and add a passion to the mix!
Happy travels with so much joy xx
