Finding Joy I: From the beginning

Some of you may know me as Lizzie Daniell, Lizzie Whizz or Lizzie_Zen from my positive reflections posted daily from my home in Saudi Arabia on Instagram/facebook/twitter–a small positive moment shared daily with the social media reading community.

Whilst on an amazing two week retreat recently organised by @BluemoonRetreats founded by Ranyah Seraj, someone reminded me to try and remember to think big, find the joy and be the best of myself in every situation! A wonderful statement and way to be, but not always easy to follow.

This phrase has sat with me over the last few weeks since coming home, especially during quiet times and meditation; it got me thinking! How do I do this? Keeping those thoughts alive in everything I experience and do. So, I decided that maybe I should start small … my daily social media offerings … hmm… A way of expanding words and thoughts to cover inner expansion and radiate it to all and see where it takes us.

With the new flower moon with us, Ramadan firmly underway, I have decided to write a monthly article/newsletter called “Finding The Joy”.

We all need a gentle reminder at times to help us think about and experience gratitude for what is good in our lives and how that awareness of joy can maybe change a difficult situation.

There is so much joy around us we sometimes need to stop, honour and see it. It is in every situation, around every corner in our community far and wide and in everyone. We often get hung up on the small things and negatives of situations, as past patterns become our first action. Maybe we need to regroup and think what is really happening here and am I able to change my perception. Stepping back and seeing it through clearer eyes (with our hearts, not minds) is beautiful and kinder to ourselves. Lets be honest, if we don͛t honour our experiences by clothing them in positive thoughts, who else will?

So as the Zen Fairy starts to think big, whilst remembering her joy, I ask you to join her in doing the same.

As this newsletter grows I would love others to share their thoughtful stories of experiences and awakening positivity with me, to help inspire us all as we live our daily lives joyfully.

Remember, in-sight-full thoughts in-spire joy-filled experiences (and create their joyful likeness)- always!

So with very much love and honour to all, I finish my first chapter. I look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to share.
